Summit NJ Network

Brief Description: Summit has always prided itself on its sense of community and culture of "neighbor helping neighbor." This networking group is for people who live and work in and around the Summit area to connect with one another and utilize local resources for projects and career development. The "Summit NJ Network" has been specifically developed to provide a no-cost technological job assistance service for Summit residents and its business leaders. The idea is simple and electronically encourages neighbor to help neighbor. Currently, job seekers, employers, mentors and other citizens are encouraged to join this virtual network, but as part of its growth, live networking sessions may be scheduled later. Using the technology provided by "LinkedIn," the network-creating initiative, the Group's purpose is to connect Summit folks looking for work with Summit folks who would like to assist their neighbors in the pursuit in any number of ways. Employers can post job listing directly, and job seekers can respond and network. In essence, the idea allows Summit residents to electronically place themselves into one of four categories:

1. Overview
2. News
3. Jobs
4. DIscussions
5. Subgroups

Here's how to join:
If you're already registered on LinkedIn, simply:
1. Click on "Groups" on the left side of the page,
2. Enter "Summit NJ" in the search box
3. Find the "Summit NJ Network" with a photo of the Summit Diner next to it and click "Join Group."
